The Biology of Belief
These postings, to begin with at least, give me an opportunity to share bits of information and experiences that have come to light in our life that I hope will be of value to anyone reading these words. This blog and the greater extended project involving the theme of Support For Healthy Living is organically coming into form to serve all those striving to be all that they can be and looking for ways to participate in creating a world that works for the highest good of everyone.
We are in a time of massive change, not only globally, but also individually. We are all being "squeezed" in one way or another. Dr. Wayne Dyer uses the analogy of squeezing an orange and asks "What comes out when you squeeze an orange as hard as you can squeeze it ?" What comes out is "what's inside! ". That's what comes out !! And so it is with each of us. Right now, we are all being "squeezed". It is helpful to look at my own life in this regard (especially the most uncomfortable aspects) and look at what has been squeezed out of me. What has manifested in my life? How have I reacted? What have I said ... under pressure? ...... what "juice" has flowed out of me? Each, in our own way, we deal with challenges day in and day out. It is in taking responsibility for the "juice" that flows out of me that leads to my inner growth and spiritual development.
Striving for balance and wholeness in life is one major player in "Healthy Living". The details of what this means for each us may be different, but ultimately it involves integrating body, mind and spirit and realising that they all work together and are interdependent.
At the core level, it is pain and it is pleasure that motivates and guides our daily actions. What a blessing both of these are! I heard someone say once that what causes the pain in our lives is not "what is", but rather the resistance to what is. Accepting "what is" is often one of our biggest hurdles, while surrendering and letting go of past habits and beliefs to take on a new paradigm is another. These are all part of what might be called "developmental experiences".
Just recently we were introduced to the work of Dr. Bruce Lipton who was quoted as saying
I am so excited about his latest book The Biology of Belief - Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter and Miracles.
By the way, if you haven't seen "What the Bleep .....then run, don't walk, to the nearest "alternative-minded" theatre near you or purchase a copy from AMAZON.com or, better yet, from www.whatthebleep.com

"Subsequently, my life was transformed when I realized how my developmental experiences programmed my genes and behavior. With this knowledge I was able to rewrite limiting, self-sabotaging beliefs that were keeping me from experiencing the health, love and joy we all seek."
I am so excited about his latest book The Biology of Belief - Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter and Miracles.
"Author Dr. Bruce Lipton is a former medical school professor (University of Wisconsin) and research scientist (Stanford University School of Medicine). His experiments, examining in great detail the molecular mechanisms by which cells process information, have revealed that genes do not in fact control our behavior, instead, genes are turned on and off by influences outside the cell.
These influences include our perceptions and beliefs. He shows that our beliefs, true or false, positive or negative, affect genetic activity and actually alter our genetic code. Dr. Lipton's profoundly hopeful work, being hailed as one of the major breakthroughs in the New Sciences, shows how we can retrain our consciousness to create healthy beliefs, and by doing so create a profoundly positive effect on our bodies and our lives."
You can check out Dr. Lipton's work at www.brucelipton.com . For an EXCELLENT audio interview with Dr. Lipton by Gary Null in February this year as well as a review of his book go to www.beliefbook.com
or if you are in Australia his materials are available through the website www.chrishooper.com.au. With all the commotion that the movie "What the Bleep Do We Know!?" is causing, Dr. Lipton's work not only expands on the theme presented there, but (in the words of LeVar Burton - Actor, Director) ...... "his (Dr. Lipton's) breakthrough discoveries give us the tools for regaining the sovereignty over our lives"By the way, if you haven't seen "What the Bleep .....then run, don't walk, to the nearest "alternative-minded" theatre near you or purchase a copy from AMAZON.com or, better yet, from www.whatthebleep.com
Till next post .
Blessings,
Sven
